Re: ALX9 - To The Nines: REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!, by keither

Hey folks -

We're a couple of weeks away from ALX 9 and I just wanted to update y'all. First, lead/follow ratios are currently about even. This is, of course, a good thing. Second, we're expecting temps in the mid-upper 70s during the day and 50s at night - it's gorgeous weather this time of year. Third, over 200 people that you know are already signed up. Shouldn't you be, too?

PAY BY CHECK, HOUSING AND T-SHIRT SALES CLOSE NOV. 7

The last day to request a check registration, request housing and the last day to order a t-shirt is THIS Friday, Nov. 7th. If you're wanting one of our awesome t-shirts or need a place to crash in Austin, get all up ons right away!

MASTER PANCAKE TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT - PROBABLY!

But it may not be too late if you register and pay RIGHT NOW. Because the tickets are distributed on a first paid basis, you may still be able to get a ticket. But act quickly - we only expect a handful of these tickets to be available.

Sign up now - http://www.austinlindyexchange.com/

See you soon!

Re: ALX9 - To The Nines: REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!, by guest

If you've been putting off signing up for ALX, you should reconsider. Today (Friday) is the last day to get our earlybird price of $75.00. At midnight, prices will roll over to $90.00.

What do you get for your hard earned dollars?

* A World Class event in its 9th year
* World reknowned DJs - Tina Davis, Greg Avakian, and Jesse Miner (as well as a whole slew of amazing Austin & TX DJs)
* FIVE bands
* A Juke Joint Blues night featuring Jabo & Them Ole Dawgs
* A Sunday Afternoon Up & At 'Em with Giant City
* Food at ALL the late night dances

But wait, there's more!

We've got Master Pancake Theater (formerly Mr. Sinus) doing their rendition of Back To The Future.

and

If you're in Austin on Thursday night, we're throwing in a late night welcome dance after the Fed dance. Did I mention it's free?

So, prices go up tomorrow, and there are only 75 tickets left for Master Pancake. You really don't want to miss this. Why are you still here reading this?!

Ladies and gents! If you haven't already registered for ALX 9: To the Nines, now's the time!

Early bird registration ends at midnight on Friday, October 3, and the registration price will go up to $90. Still a great deal for an awesome weekend, but (if Wall Street's any indication), we could all stand to save a little green.

Also, only 110 spots are left for Master Pancake Theater (first paid, first served). They're going at about 10 per day, but we're expecting a rush as earlybird closes.

Sign up to swing and swill the weekend away before '29 repeats itself!

ALX9 - To The Nines: REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!, by keith shapiro

You've waited another long year and it's finally here, again! ALX 9: To the Nines is coming at you November 21-23, 2008, in awesome Austin, TX.

Grab your fringed dresses and pinstriped suits because this year, ALX is bringing you back to the Jazz Age. Jazz was new and hot and the dancing was positively scandalous. Skirts were short, kicks were high and rebellion was in the air.

You'll dance to the best live music in the Lonestar State with the Jitterbug Vipers, Marc Devine and friends, Jabo & Them Ole' Dawgs, Giant City and Seth Walker.

You'll also kick up your heels to the amazing DJ skills of Jesse Miner, Tina Davis, Greg Avakian and more.

We're proud to announce the return of Master Pancake Theater (formerly the Mr. Sinus Show) with a special screening of Back to the Future. Space is limited and this is only available to the first 185 registrants, so register early!

Registration is now open at http://www.austinlindyexchange.com. Early registration ends October 3rd. Housing is on a first paid, first served basis.

Get in on the fun!

Where can I find lessons! Or dancing communities?, by guest

My girlfriend and I would like to start learning swing dancing. I'm sure it will be a long time before we are doing some serious flips and such but we'd at least like to get our feet wet before the Big Dance in October and I thought I could get some helpful advice on where I could get dance lessons in the metro detroit area. Also, what is a normal price when it comes to lessons. I'd like to not have to pay the max amount but if people have suggestions on what they think are great studios/teachers, I'd be willing to shell out a few extra bucks.

So You Think You Can Dance! TONIGHT, by erinbdancin

The rumor is that tonight on So You Think You Can Dance our very own Brandi and Ronnie are choreographing for the 2-step dance being done. I Believe this is the first time they have had 2-step on the show. So here I am supporting! I'm really telling you to support by calling and VOTING!! Perhaps the more votes they get for 2-step the more we will see of it. Of course when there is a WCS you should vote too! This is just a thought, but really GET to your couch with your phone in hand to watch and vote TONIGHT!
